Currently our day here and what a lovely stay we have had, The hotel is situated right on the sea front and we paid extra to book and sea view with a balcony (room 435) and was not disappointed we could hear the waves and it’s so lovely and relaxing and a view of the rock .. when we entered the room we was impressed with the beautiful decor and all the extra touches like beach hat and Beach bag, slippers, dressing gowns and pillow spray, moisturisers, sewing kit, comb, shower cap. There is a beautiful bathroom with a huge walk in shower and a separate bath with a shower. There is a huge very comfortable bed (two big singles pushed together. The pillows a little soft but not a huge problem. Coffee machine is supplied which we aren’t really keen on so I recommend maybe bringing a travel kettle and your favourite tea bag’s and coffee on saying that there is a supermarket right underneath that stocks everything, it’s called my Mearcat .. bit like a Waitrose. We was B@B and the breakfast is amazing everything you could want, they even make a Bloody Mary for you and Prosecco is help yourself.. freshly made omelettes to order . Can’t comment on the evening meals as we choose to eat out and one of the many restaurants along the seafront or walk into Town.. the pool on the lower level looks amazing but we had bad weather the whole time we was here so was unfortunate not to get the chance to go for a dip, free suntan lotion on hand j noticed .. all in all we had. Lovely stay here and would return when the weathers better to make use of the beautiful beach and pools, drinks a bit pricey in the lounge but you can find cheaper in the bars around .. definitely recommend coming here .

We stayed for a week at the Gran Sol y Mar for our 35th wedding anniversary and it was amazing. We booked a sea view room with a balcony and we were not disappointed, the room was very big with a fabulous view of the beach. The hotel put a bottle of Cava and a card in the room for our anniversary which was lovely. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The location of this hotel is ideal as you walk straight out onto the promenade with the beach and lots of restaurants and bars. We had a car and there was ample parking under the hotel and staff on hand to help if it was needed. Would definitely return to the Gran Sol y Mar it is an absolute gem of a hotel in Calpe.

We stayed at this fab hotel as an early birthday present for my 60th birthday. My birthday is at Christmas so we didn’t want to risk the weather in December. Everything was fabulous - we had a beautiful room overlooking the beach. Breakfast was beautiful and we loved the fridge in the room. My negative would be the sun loungers around the pool - too few for the size of the hotel and very close together. We chose to use the beds on artificial grass one level down - no problems! The entertainment by the pool is great we loved it - again a small negative was a waiter asking us if we wanted change - despite how large a note we paid with! We always tip generously but not when he was concerned! That said - My husband is turning 60 this year and we have booked to come back -thank u Sol y mar and Calpe - u r amazing!!❤️

This is our second visit here, the hotel is top class and the staff are excellent. We had a lovely surprise tonight when we returned to our room. Two glasses and a bottle of Cava for us to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you so much for such a lovely gesture.

Just returned from lovely relaxing break in calpe in January we were very lucky with the weather we were on the 9 th floor in a georgeous room overlooking the beach and ifach we particularly enjoyed breakfast and the evening dinner you are spoiled for choice it was also exciting to see the world class cycling team they had staying there on their winter training camp many thanks to the team and management and we will be back later in the year
