Description

This luxurious hotel, located within an incomparable setting, has a 27-hole golf course. The hotel has 178 luxurious rooms and 8 unique suites. The El Montgo restaurant offers local and international cuisine in a Mediterranean atmosphere. Guests can hold all kinds of meetings, congresses and conferences in its more than 700 metres of meeting rooms. Among other services, this establishment offers ADSL connection, WIFI, Lobby Bar, Pool bar, safe, currency exchange, luggage storage and parking.

Located next to the La Sella golf course and the Montgó Natural Park, the resort is 7 km from the cities of Denia and Javea, where you will find a wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants. Las Marinas beach is 5 km away.

Rooms

The luxurious rooms all have a full bathroom with hairdryer, satellite TV with pay-per-view channels, telephone, mini bar (with charge), ADSL Internet connection, work desk, safe with space for laptops and a plug for charging them, large wardrobe with ironing board and individually adjustable hot/cold air conditioning. Most have a terrace or balcony.

Facilities

The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool for adults, a children's pool, a terrace with sun loungers and parasols, and a gym with free access to guests. For the little ones (depending on the season) there is a mini club with various activities (for a fee). In the SPA you can enjoy hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, Vichy thermal baths, underwater massages, Thai massages and all kinds of health and beauty treatments. The 18-hole golf course was designed by José María Olazábal and Juan de la Cuadra, with a Handicap 35 and Par 72.

Meals

Breakfast is served buffet style. Lunch and dinner are selected from a set menu. The hotel offers a special children's menu for children up to 12 years of age.

Just finished a week long stay here, which we chose because of the golf. Off season, so the hotel wasn’t busy, and too cold to use the pool or sit for long outside. Our room on the third floor had 2 double beds (4’6 each) which was nice, added to which they were really comfortable. Probably some of the comfiest beds we’ve had in Spain. Room was spacious with a small couch, and a nice balcony looking towards the golf club house. Walk in shower and nice toiletries. Good Wi-Fi, even though we were at the far end of the hotel. We stayed b&b, and breakfast was very pleasant. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast choice was more than adequate and of good quality. In fact, all the staff we came into contact with were very helpful and friendly, housekeeping was very efficient, and the hotel atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. We ate twice in the main restaurant, which is table service and nice food and twice at the Thai. The sports bar was a bit too much for me with 7 televisions, but we did eat there briefly one evening, which was fine. The lobby bar seems to be popular, and you can eat food from the sports bar menu there. The hotel location is a bit isolated. It’s a good 15 minutes drive into Denia if you want more variety. We took a taxi, as we didn’t want to try parking in town. The taxi driver seems to spend his day driving back and forth to the hotel, so finding a taxi in high season or peak times may be a challenge. We played golf 4 times during our stay. There’s 3 x 9 hole courses, Llebeig, Mestral, Gregal, all of which start and finish close to the club house. Handy if you only want to play 9 holes. We took a buggy, but most people were just using trolleys. The course is mainly flat, so it’s no problem to walk. There had been a bit of rain, so Llebeig was quite wet, otherwise the courses seemed in reasonable condition. We were told which 2 courses to play each day, and found all 3 quite challenging. We were held up one of the four days, but nothing drastic. There were several golfing tour groups from Northern Europe, and they seemed to have the very early tees, whilst we started at lunchtime. We have stayed in several ‘resort’ hotels to play golf, and thought this was one of the best. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like, and we got a really good rate at the hotel. One of my pet hates is dinner buffets, so it was a relief to find table service here. Thoroughly recommend and expect we’ll be back.

Positives: - Rooms have been updated recently - Rooms with walk-in showers available - Ample parking space - Friendly personal - Quiet surroundings and room - Excellent buffet breakfast Negatives: - GPS to Denia takes you through some challenging small roads. We have found that the easiest way is to go through the village La Xara which brings you to the CV725. Bed and pillows: Comfy beds although a bit squeaky, pillows a bit thin, but that is personal preference. Tip: instead of ordering room service you can order at the La Nao Lounge, there are more options to choose from, it is cheaper than room service and they prepare it to take away.

The F&B outlets are very reasonably priced (especially the La Nao lounge) and all the food was of very good quality. In addition to the outdoor pool, there is an indoor spa complex with a sauna, steam room and additional indoor pool for 20€ per person for 2 hours. This is especially good for adults if they want to spend some time away from kids, because the pool did get quite full. There is the La Sella Golf Club nearby but we didn't have time to try it, although the price is amazing for 60€ per round per person. If there was one thing that could be improved, it would be the breakfast. The staff couldn't keep up when the hotel is fully booked in the high season. I also felt that the breakfast buffet selection on offer could be larger considering how many people are eating, and it got very crowded! The hotel has a Thai restaurant that is open only 2 or 3 times a week and it just stand empty when it's closed, so it could be adapted into a very good adults-only breakfast area (or for families with older kids). But in conclusion, for what we paid this was definitely very good value overall.

We stayed here last minute booking arriving late at night as we had to leave our previous villa that was unsafe. It was like arriving in an oasis! A wonderful welcome from reception, fantastic staff, lovely pools and pool bar and we loved our apartments. We will come back 🥰

Very nice hotel and friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. We had a partial view of the golf course from our balcony Breakfast was good although the omelette station is not ready when they open at 7am. That was the only disappointment. It’s very much a family resort so don’t expect a quiet time by the pool. I played the golf course. All in decent condition but you’d expect that as they are hosting a European Ladies tournament in a months time. There are a few water stations on the course which is much appreciated. It’s about a 10min taxi ride into town which will cost 15-20€
